This is a film we did for our Faith, Film, and Spirituality in Young Adults at Princeton Seminary. This film was inspired by the story of Zaccheaus (Luke 19:1-9).
We are told in the Reformed tradition that the true church exists wherever the word of God is preached and the sacraments are rightly administered. Word and Sacraments, these are the two marks of the church. But I always feel these marks are pretty pietistic. Look at the individuals behind these marks… it is the clergy. What about everyone else? For a final in our Philosophy of the Arts, we were offered an opportunity to make a movie as a final project. We were given the theme “Advent.” This is our final project. Hope you like it!

I am OK with organizing Halo 3 parties but this is not how the church stays culturally relevant.

I just started a new internship at a new church development 45 minutes away in Jackson, NJ. The town is more like five villages smashed together with nothing to do, so I feel bad for the youth. Although even though they complain, there is a Six Flags in this town [...]
